Martin Luther King Jr. # 2

Martin Luther King’s words inspire us today, challenge us to dream beyond sad realities.  They challenge us to give ourselves to pursuing dreams regardless of the cost.  He did, and paid for it by being beaten, imprisoned, and ultimately killed.

Why?  A decade before his imprisonment he wrote, “I decided early to give my life to something eternal and absolute. Not to these little gods that are here today and gone tomorrow, but to God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”  From “Rediscovering Lost Values,” Feb. 28, 1954.

My friend, what is your dream?  If it is material or physical even achieving it will be a short-lived celebration.  If its spiritual, God directed, God inspired, even a bit of progress toward that dream will have eternal results.
