Life Of Contrasts

Do you ever feel your life is packed with great contrasts.  Maybe even events chaotic and unexpected at the time?  I have. Certainly, one of Jesus’ followers experienced that.  Think of Mary Magdalene.

She was a sinful woman who recognized Jesus, his goodness, and much more.  She entered a home where he was eating, weeping poured an alabaster jar of perfume on his feet, kissed them, and dried them with her hair. That alabaster jar might have been saved for her dowry.  Was she symbolically showing she would be devoted to Him and never marry?  Possibly.

He forgave her sins, which were many, and she became his disciple.

She became the companion of respected women who followed him. In fact, she stood with his mother and mother’s sister at the cross.
