Leadership in Christian organizations is not easy. Being married to one I observed that leadership can be lonely. Decisions must be made. Others may or may not understand. Bob Neff stated that we are to be salt and light to others. Certainly our dark world today needs God’s light. Secular organizations as well as faith based. Yet there is conflict in our families, our organizations, including churches. He stated that conflict needs to be addressed quickly. If unchecked, it only gets worse.
In this age of instant communication, quotes, pictures, and tweets, coverups dwindle. But publicity should not be the motivator to address conflict and wrong doing. Often even Christian organizations hide sin to preserve the structure or a person. Speak truth pursue excellence. We are salt and light. Accountability means speaking truth early and often.
