Inventory

As January comes to an end, we collect reports and take inventory. Why? Tax Day requires it. Uncle Sam wants to know what we own–is it producing income–what we earned–he’ll take part, he wants a handful of it all.
We look at our stuff. What’s mine, what I can keep, what I must relinquish. We are a ‘my‘ culture. Jesus words are counter cultural. “Render to Caesar what is Caesar and to God what is God’s. Matthew 22: 21.
We have nothing that does not belong to God. Home, children, spouse, business, resources of any kind. And Jesus says pay your government what you owe them. All the rest, whether material or relationships are simply temporary, on loan from Him. Inventory time is a good reveal.
