Insiders and outsiders.

Great social movements need both insiders and outsiders to affect real change.  The civil rights movement during the turbulent 60’s did not lack for insiders:  Martin Luther King, Jr.  John Lewis, Septima Clark, and Rosa Parks spoke, sacrificed, acted as insiders committed to equality for black people.  Outsiders, eventually the president  acted. Those outsiders were necessary to change the Jim Crow practices of that day.

My cause is less dramatic.  I simply want widows to have the respect and care that God states in His Word.  Yes, we widows meet, encourage each other and advise, take on projects to help those with less.  But we need outsiders.  Two deacons in my church are just that:  married men, yet they get it, and represent our needs to the church.

We’ll help your church do the same.
