If Then

Geometry was a fun subject for a few of us. I loved ‘if then’ questions. If this happens then that will happen. If this is true, then that should be. Logic in action. Facts that lead to resolutions. Our pastor applied this to Philippians 2: 1 If then there is any encouragement in Christ, and the writer Paul expounds on how we are encouraged by Christ. If that is so (which it unequivocally is) then this is how we should behave, should respond. We should be like minded, unified, unselfish, and regard others more than ourselves.
If Jesus lived an unselfish life, if he valued the uniqueness in different people, if He helped the helpless and comforted the abandoned and ill. THEN we should too. Because He did, we can.
