Hattie McCoy 2

My grandmother, Hatie McCoy, left us a 3-page list of her life activities. None were notable by today’s standards, hard farm work, building and erecting buildings, taking grain to mills on horseback, canning spinning yarn.  She lived with us for a time and could help me with Geometry though she had only an 8th grade education.  She listed every form of transportation she’d experienced from horses and mules to a ship on Lake Michigan and an ocean liner on the Atlantic.

Indeed, Grandma Hatie gave us an amazing gift:  an example that abundance is not in our collection of stuff, whether riches or titles.  But rather in taking on the tasks of life seeing them all as worth our investment.  Abundant living indeed.
