Hard Times
January 22, 2024
Hard times happen to us all. Why are some more resilient? Some become better, some bitter. The company we keep in hard times matters. Draw strength from those who love you. Lean into them. Appreciate them. Just the act of appreciating them, thanking them, moves our focus off self to others.
We know that depression lessens when people stay connected with friends, rather than isolating. Stay connected to positive people, spiritual encouragers, not accusers. Take thoughts of your weakness and worry to God. He forgives, He strengthens. Thank Him for simple pleasures usually taken for granted. Warm coffee, warm handshake, any smile. A word about complaining. Complain to God not to others. Complaining does not honor God or lift others. David sets that example. God’s shoulders are broad, He will help you through.
