Great Marriages

A widow recently contacted me with a valuable insight.  “All that I hear people talk about on the radio is about seminars, books and cruises about how to save your marriage. Sometimes that makes me so frustrated because they never affirm the beauty and peace of a wonderful marriage. They almost make people think that marriage is naturally confrontational and awful.”

I can relate!  In fact, many of us who had average marriages, ups, downs, great adventures together, and great tragedies would do it all over again.  Not discounting any of the tools out there, some of us treasure what we had.  That hug of that person who forgives you when you mess up.  That applause from the only one that knows all your effort for that one triumph.

Small things, indeed.  But cornerstones in a great marriage.
