Gratitude 2
December 3, 2024
In this season of gratitude, it’s easy to ignore the blessings of our life. Karen Mulder lists many on her website, Wisdom of the Wounded.
‘If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep. . . you are richer than 75% of this world.’
‘If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace. . . you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.’
I have visited over 70 countries, most experience great poverty for most people. There are pockets of wealth, shared by few. I have seen children near a garbage dump, no shoes, and no hope for a brighter tomorrow. What can we do? Start by being grateful to God our provider, and deserving of our gratitude.
