Good Deeds Hijacked

Good deeds are good. Right?  There’s a popular saying, ‘all that glitters is not gold.’  True of good deeds.  To do good can be helpful, honorable, and more.  Here’s another measure.

Proverbs 16:2  ‘All one’s ways may be pure in one’s own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit.”  “What’ matters, so does ‘why.’

A good deed can be hijacked, motivated by a self-serving spirit.  For attention, public honor, handshakes, to feel good about myself.  I’m challenged to regularly on my knees ask God to give me a right spirit.  To honor and uplift another, bring glory to God.

Each of us are vulnerable.  The evil on whispers, but look at your effort, you deserve praise, elevated position, even profit.  Jesus did not give us that example.   He did ALL to honor his father.
