Friendships 1

Intentional friendships; connecting positively requires effort, time, and energy.  One study discovered that lack of friendship is a health risk higher than obesity, smoking, and high blood pressure.  Another study concluded that friendship in marriage is the way to marital happiness.

Scripture emphasizes the importance of living in community.  Paul’s letters end with long lists of his friends, admonishments, greetings, and encouraging cooperation. They knew he was cold, needed books and parchments.

I need friends to hold me accountable in stressful situations, and speak wisdom into my life.  That requires transparency.  Those trusted friends can then speak truth because they know and see my struggles. Keep the relationship current.  Friendships; vital for us all.
