How do we, as Christ followers protect ourselves from following wrong teachings? Searching Scripture is always a good beginning. But there is another important facet: the behavior of the teacher. Romans 12: 2 reminds us that being conformed to this world is possible, and wrong. Christ followers are to be transformed.
Arrogance, greed, desire for stuff and the trappings of this world are behaviors of the conformed, not the transformed.
Focusing all attention on the top dog, not the team is another mark of conformed, not transformed leaders.
Lack of financial transparency is another which is unfortunately common in today’s churches and para church organizations.
Praying this morning, I asked myself, “What is your response, Miriam?”
Get closer to Jesus, search Scripture, and be willing to speak truth.
