Father’s Day
June 15, 2017
My children will feel pain on Father’s day as they remember and miss their Dad. Bob has been in heaven 11 years now and we still shed tears missing him. We are not alone. Since there are one million new widows in our country this year, Father’s Day will be hard for many children, young and middle aged as well.
Look around you and remember. Call or text that friend who has lost their father. Share a memory of him, a quote, a word of encouragement or just say, “I’m thinking of you and I’m sorry for your loss.”
Remember that no human father is perfect. It may be a day to forgive, even if forgiveness is not requested. Its a good day for grace and mercy for us all.
