Fast Or Alone

There’s an African proverb that speaks truth.  “If you want to go fast, go alone.  If you want to go far, go together.’  I’m learning that with our Africa projects.  I’ve traveled alone to start our first projects. Traveling and decision making are simple when you’re a party of one. On one trip I traveled with a team.  While I met with widows, reaching out to help them acquire a skill, my three grandsons led sports events with their orphaned children.  My daughter and son-in-law coordinated and served in both places.

Yes, it took us longer to get through customs.  Retrieving baggage and adjusting when the unexpected happens requires more time. Logistics of food for six and travel are more complicated.  But we got far, and accomplished much.
