Epidemic of loneliness

Studies show that our country is experiencing an epidemic of loneliness. The recent pandemic closed schools and churches.  Looking at a screen might have provided learning and information, but not the comfort of people being together.

In the last two years, the suicide rate has increased.  What can we do?  During the pandemic, Widow Connection gifted each widow in my church a gift including a colorful plant, chocolate, and Scripture.  I delivered many to a specific zip code.  Without exception, each widow wanted me to stay and chat.  I did.  Social distance of course.  I listened, we laughed.  They were blessed, so was I.

Never underestimate the value of reaching out.  Befriending someone in your neighborhood.  Calling someone who may be isolated.  They will be blessed and so will you.
