Dialogue In A Divided Place

Are you finding yourself in places with people who don’t believe as you do, and actions that surprise you?  This is increasing as our culture swings further from God.  Our families, our friendship networks bring us opportunity for interesting discussions.

I’m reviewing biblical instructions for conversations I have.  First and greatest commandment, not suggestion is that we love one another.  John 13: 34. What is a loving way to talk about this?  I Corinthians 8: 1 tells us that knowledge makes people proud, while love builds them up.

Our great reasoning, maybe scientific knowledge, or biblical foundation may make us proud, but it will probably offend that other person, not change their mind.   Loving them first, speaking graciously, listening the way Jesus did is a better way.
