Comfortable with the wrong people

Reading through the book of John, I see a reoccurring theme that is repeated today. Folks in a religious group want to be accepted there, don’t want to incur the disapproval of the leaders even when that group is no longer God focused and the leaders self focused not God focused.
Example of the blind man Jesus healed on the Sabbath, and his parents. John 9. The man was blind from birth and healed as an adult. Jesus healed responding to his faith that Jesus was capable of healing him. The phrases hated Jesus, cared nothing about the man and his blindness, simply wanted to keep power to themselves. His parents wanted to stay in the group, their traditions, friends, position. Verse 22. Dodge and deny the reality of the one who had given sight to their blind son!
