Comfortable with the wrong people # 2

Connections, especially friendships are a powerful tie. The blind man’s parents in John 9:22 wanted to stay in their religious group even if it meant turning their back on the one who had given their son his sight. Imagine their son’s hurt and dismay that his parents coveted their circle of friends over the giver of his sight!
That temptation is true today. A religious organization, even a church can become the comfortable connections, hard to break and hard to leave even when its leaders no longer have God as head, Jesus as sole focus, and have become self serving, no longer servant hearted.
Lesson: we may say, hold leaders accountable. But in fact, only God can do that if and when the leader is willing to accept others direction.
