Cheryl McGuinness is a hero. Her husband was a copilot on American Airlines Flight 11 when it was hijacked and crashed into the World Trade Center. After 18 years of marriage, parenting their two children, everything changed in an instant. When I became a widow reading her book, Beauty Beyond Ashes inspired me to lean heavily into God’s promise to be my husband and fill my aching void. “For your Maker is your husband— the Lord Almighty is his name— the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer;” ~Isaiah 54:5
One key to her healing was asking God if He could forgive men’s evil destruction that day. His answer, He had forgiven much more. The rebellion and men’s evil His Son on the cross. He forgave, so can I.
