In a nostalgic moment, I looked at March 1994 Life magazine. Pictured on the front is an innocent looking girl, hands folded in prayer, eyes looking up. The caption: The Power of Prayer: How Americans Talk to God.
Shocking! In only 26 years, media has moved to not wanting to display anyone praying to God, whether on bended knee in the athletic arena, or prayer in a public gathering. No prayer in public schools. Prayer may be removed from our congressional meetings.
The first 100 years of our history 1776–1886 media showed and printed president’s prayers, prayers in our military, and depicted churches as source of strength in our communities and country.
What will the next 26 years bring? Friend, we have some praying to do.
