By The Hand 1

‘By the hand’ is a phrase we see often in Scripture. David repeated that often God’s hand saved Him. Often unseen, yet powerful, hands guide those who cannot see. Hands give stability in new and rugged territory. In Matthew 9, Jesus took the hand of a girl who had died and she got up.
Small gestures, a thumbs up, a caring pat; small and encouraging.
We do well to carefully consider whose hand we look to for guidance, assistance, and strength. Friends? Family? I remember the song, “precious Lord, take my hand, lead me on, help me stand, I’m weak, I’m tired, I’m worn.” What comfort to know His hand is 24/7 available. More than 100% capable, and He is ready and able, and wants to take our hand.
