Beware Thinking You Are Strong

A tragedy in Lake Michigan highlighted a life lesson.  Four boaters went for a late-night swim without anchoring their boat.  It drifted off.  The strongest swimmer died swimming for shore.  One was never found, and the two weakest swimmers survived till morning.  Their salvation?  They knew they were weak swimmers and simply treaded water until daylight.

Lesson one:  anchor your boat.  Life throws surprises and catastrophes.  Know who you are:  God’s created person.  Whose you are:  His adopted daughter because you have accepted His son as your guide and Savior.  You have a sure life anchor.

Second:  Don’t leap without connection.  Life may require risks and bold behavior.  Make sure you are connected at all times to your only life source.

Third:  Weak is OK. God will be your strength.
