Besmirched Churches #2

These days we are challenged to be the church, Christ’s bride and bring glory and honor to our heavenly Father.  Many are missing the mark.  This has always been so.  The model is the problem.  In the early church, there were large growing gatherings, and small ones. There were folks who were God honoring and obedient, and those who sought prideful prominence through deceit.

We have humble hearted, servant hearted pastors who are gifted to preach—and many or few gather.  The poor widow sitting near the door, fasting, and praying for Christ’s church is as loved and treasured by God as the wealthy patron.

David’s words in Psalm 139 are relevant.  Search my heart and try me, as individuals and churches.   Transparency of finances and all else.  Test, address wrongdoing.  Because we are Christ’s bride.
