Besmirched Churches #1

Churches in my city are besmirched. I’ve never been proud of my city’s politics. And now some of our churches are following suit. I am reminded that the church is Christ’s bride. The church is not an organization that meets in a building. Just as not everything in a garage is a car, not everyone in a church is a Christ follower.
We have erred in admiring earthly results: seats occupied, power, influence, amount of money in our coffer.
Let us be careful that we do not assign all churches that share the same model with the same declaration of ‘bad.’ God knows the hearts of everyone in that gathering. This is not a new phenomenon. In Jesus time. some Jewish leaders were powerful, prideful and people still followed them. Let Jesus judge. He knows.
