Assumptions

Disruptive times and seasons of change tempt us to assign to others their intent and motivation—in our opinion. I see this increasing in our culture and country as never before. We decide someone is selfish. We decide someone is rude or inconsiderate. One popular label is ‘racist.’
Whether our assessment is correct or not is not the issue. God knows their intent, the circumstances of their life and behavior. And His opinion matters.
I continually remind myself God has been abundantly generous with me— grace and mercy. God has lots of judging to do. He’ll do it well. After all He sees the intent of their heart and ours too. Labels rarely promote peace and understanding.
