Psalm 23 – Dark Valleys
April 1, 2026
Are you experiencing a dark valley in your life? Visit Psalm 23:4. ‘Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Fear need not immobilize us. We have help to move through; our Shepherd’s rod and staff. That rod is not for punishment, it’s a guidance tool. Sheep don’t always think; they follow. Laying a rod across a dangerous drop off, or rushing stream, redirects them to a safe place.
A rebellious sheep that is off course can be gently corralled with the staff. The shepherds staff functions like a portable halter. A gentle staff correction prevents disaster. Dark valley today? Trust our Savior’s rod and staff.
