What struggles are our young people facing? Statistics say 57% of teenage girls reveal that they felt persistently sad or hopeless, for boys 29%.
Lists are varied and long as to why. What can we do as Christ followers? Stay connected to those in our family, neighborhood, and church. Listen first. Connect. What might they like to do? Coffee stop, climbing wall? Be as creative as you can. Youth events at church. Reaching out. Getting outside your friendship circle to greet and listen to a new person?
Each community is unique. Be creative. My teenage neighbors respond when I ask them how was their day at school. What they liked and did not. It’s a start. Keep listening.
