Thanksgiving Preparations

Thanksgiving preparations are usually about grocery list making and studying the athletic events for that day. Usually, I said, not always. Grocery lists are being replaced with on line ordering and preset options mean game schedules do not dominate the day.
Start the day with something more important. Read of our forefathers, especially Abraham Lincoln. I recently viewed again the booth in the Ford Theater where he was shot resulting in his death. A man of integrity, he risked his life, and he was the author of the proclamation establishing Thanksgiving Day.
Lincoln first acknowledges that we often ignore ‘these bounties which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come.’ How true!
