Why Little Persecution 2
November 12, 2024
I read Revelation with a new respect as I see our churches leaning toward self-sufficiency rather than total dependence on Jesus as our Savior and Lord. The Laodiceans had become lukewarm. They determined they were rich, had acquired wealth and did not need a thing. Revelation 3: 17. They did not realize they were poor, wretched, pitiful, blind and naked. Is that us as a church, as a nation? Jesus taught us in the beatitudes that we are blessed if we are poor in spirit, mourn our sins, and are meek meaning under the hand of God.
God wishes us to be either hot or cold, rather than lukewarm. The lukewarm prevention chapter is the beatitudes in Matthew 5. Our reward: the kingdom of heaven, Gods comfort, and we will inherit the earth. That’s riches indeed.
