Courage To Sign
July 2, 2024
My grandsons and I trooped around Philadelphia absorbing the history of our nation. While the Liberty Bell, Constitution Hall, and the Betsy Ross home were notable, they were intrigued by the Declaration of Independence. Seeing the personalities in the unique signatures of the signers, then walking through their life-sized statues, these courageous men became real in their young minds.
They decided to buy a reproduction of the declaration, feather pen and ink, and sign it themselves. But first hesitancy, discussion, and debate.
Would the British come after them? They’d be marked for sure! Risk versus Freedom. They noted that it was a God focused declaration. And still my grandsons signed!
They are still bold, and thinking young men willing to sign for freedom and acknowledge publicly God’s hand on our country.
