Grumbling And Complaining
June 21, 2024
Why do we grumble and complain? Our reason: someone did not treat us as we deserved, we did not get our due. Contrast this with Scripture, ‘Do all things without murmuring and arguing,’ Philippians 2: 14. Notice the context follows an explanation of Christ’s humility, his humble position.
Our real reason: pride and entitlement. “We deserve.” “It’s owed to us.” Jesus sees that situation, circumstance, hears those words. Ask this question, ‘Jesus, how do you see this?’ Just asking the questions opens up our heart to a different perspective. Not grumbling and complaining will be so unexpected that we will shine like stars to the world. And that’s what Jesus wants. Hold fast to His words. Don’t glance! Stare, keep a fixed gaze on Jesus. Not our rights, our pride, or our entitlement.
