Prayer And Silence

Prayer is the privilege of Christ followers, and every human for that matter.  We think of prayer as talking to God.  We ask, we thank, we plead.

Consider Psalm 62: 1 ‘For God alone my soul waits in silence;’ I’m learning to do that.  Open Bible, ears open to listen, heart open to His voice, His words, not mine.

I spoke snarky to someone I love.  I sat in silence before God.  I Corinthians 13 came to mind.  Love expects the best from that person I love.  Silence, not defending myself, complaining, but being admonished by Him.

My salvation comes from him.  Saving me from myself, self-centeredness, thoughtlessness.  Great time investment? God repeats in verse 5 to be silent before Him.  We gain hope and He shapes us to be more like Him.
