Too Soon And Too Late
May 6, 2024
Timed words in a crisis, kind acts at just the right moment, we’d all like to get this just right.
Karen Mulder in Wisdom of the Wounded addresses this wisely. She listed regrets, we all have those, and quoted Ralph Waldo Emerson. “You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late.”
Marriage over: and we look back with regrets. What might have been. What we could have done, noticed, impacted. Death, especially sudden of husband, child, treasured friend. We think of what we wish we had said. Proverbs 12: 25 “Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.”
Those regrets can prompt us today to do an act of kindness, an opportunity that comes our way just in time.
