Bulking Up

Having three athletic grandsons, I’m very aware of the importance of ‘bulking up.’  Before and during wrestling and rugby seasons, weights are ‘pumped’ and careful planning goes into diet.  Worthy calories and protein, carbohydrates at just the right time and hydration.

Folks facing surgeries are advised to prepare, get the body as ready as can be for the disruptive procedures ahead.

I read Proverbs 16:9 this morning for reassurance. ‘The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps.’ and verse 20 ‘Those who are attentive to a matter will prosper, and happy are those who trust in the Lord.’

Bulking up for future challenges is a good thing, whether physical, mental, or spiritual.  Depending on God for all outcomes is even better.
