Two Widows

A tiny church has shrunk to 2 members, 2 widows. And they called a young pastor to their church. Young, married, bi-vocational schoolteacher, he came. In less than a year, there are 30 members. They serve their community in ordinary, non-sparkly ways. A water problem, distributing bottled water. Food box gifts, block parties, hotdogs, and games. No concerts, just boots on the ground community outreach.
This church is working the field, seeing the harvest. Being hands and feet. I look forward to meeting these 2 widows in Heaven. They could have abandoned the church and closed the door. It is humbling indeed to see how God uses each of us wherever has us. Two widows. In a small town in Texas. Heaven will tell the whole story.
