What Matters In The Church

This year has taken much from us.  One thing is certainty.  Predictable budgets, health concerns, even safety.  This is true in our churches as well.  Sadly, one church split over the issue of wearing masks in church.  We can fade to disagreements rather than focus on the main thing.

Focus on reaching the lost.  Gospel centered.  Bringing them home.

Making disciples.

Uncertainty can have positive outcomes.  We long for what is certain. God’s promises.  As Christians, a great challenge is to love our neighbor as ourselves.  Hard even for vintage Christians.

I’m attempting to connect more meaningfully with my neighbors.  Sharing garden produce.  Being interested in them.  What their children enjoy, the work they do.

Some are now asking me to pray for challenges they are facing.  My goal: being Jesus outside the church.
