Does Church Matter?

Church has sure changed.  From the wooden pew I sat on with 6 other little girls, sisters, and cousins, eating crackers to keep us quiet, to the multisite church where I worship today.  One question is always relevant: Does church matter?

My young relative after church one day stated, ‘I feel like I’ve been to an organization.’  Some focus on teaching and mentoring future pastors.  A good thing but not our primary call to make disciples.  Thats for everyone, not just a chosen few.

How easy to lean to the desires of a few leaders, a popular new model of worship to fill seats.

Does church matter? Our world is dark.  If our light is dim, what hope is there for our nation, our communities, our families.  It’s time to keep first things first.  Committed discipleship.  Jesus first.
