Politics And Religion

While folks struggle to separate politics and religion, it is simply impossible.  Each individual’s faith informs their behavior, whether they articulate in words what they believe or not.

Election season puts a bold yellow high lighter on the faith of those running for office.  I’ve been reading ‘Stories of Faith and Courage From the Home Front.’  I recommend it during these days of divisive rhetoric as politicians scramble for votes.  I quote one past leader during these days leading up to our elections.

Woodrow Wilson: “I am sorry for the men who do not read the Bible every day . . .It is one of the most singular books in the world, for every time you open it some old text that you have read before a score of times suddenly beams with a new meaning.”
