Tomato Plants
October 26, 2023
My tomato plants are sagging brown stems with a few straggling leaves–and a few green tomatoes. By now I should have at least a half bushel, enough for our family and more to share. Our drought and heat have taken their toll.
I’m reminded of the parable of the Sower. Mark 4 describes my garden. The sun came up, the plants were scorched because they had no root. The soil. The problem started with poor soil–simply inadequate for the harsh weather conditions.
My friend, are you going through a scorching time in your life? It’s time to invest deeply in good spiritual soil. Read Scripture before or at least during morning coffee. Check in with an accountable friend who knows God’s principles and your struggles. Rain is not guaranteed. But spiritual survival is.
