The Old Testament documents God’s people, the nation of Israel, their obedience, then disobedience and the consequences. Of course we want God’s blessing for ourselves, our families and our nation.
Psalm 33:12 “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.”
Are there elements of God’s values in our founding documents? Certainly. In the Declaration of Independence, we are created equal, by our Creator. We have rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
The sanctity of life, freedom to pursue a good life, a happy life.
He does not guarantee extreme wealth. Provisions, productive land to grow crops and animals. Protection from enemies. Note: the strength to accomplish these is not our power, but His.
He sees our obedience, takes note, and acts.
