The apostle Paul traveled with many companions, experiencing hospitality in many places. He wanted no one else to provide for him and his group.
Acts 20: 34 ‘You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions.’
M You might say he was taking care of family. He also included that we must help the weak, verse 35, who cannot provide for themselves. Discernment for enabling and being productive and self-sufficient. Both are important to consider.
