M August for some is pack the car and head to college time. Valerie, you are an expert at setting up college dormitory rooms. Having had three in college at once, what are your suggestions?
V Economize and go for used items when you can. Rarely do brand new items come out of the 1st year college experience unscathed, so why not just buy used, borrow from a friend, or wait to purchase. Craigslist and other mediums work well for getting reasonable priced items. Plan ahead, get sales, and ask other experienced families about what they bought versus what their student actually used.
M College time is a great time to learn more about financial accountability.
