Every voice matters

Scripture is full of admonitions not to discriminate. James 2 admonishes against partiality and favoritism. Do we listen to the powerful and wealthy, not the humble and lowly? Do we listen to one gender with greater attentiveness than another? Preferred seating and titles? We are tarnished. Romans 12: 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Scripture is clear that all persons are created equal regardless of skin tone, gender, or status in culture. Churches and religious organizations are not measuring up. Only in Heaven will we be perfect.
Take one small step. Talk to a person not in your ‘circle.’ Get to know their challenges, their strengths. Bring into leadership circles new faces. A leadership position is not a right, or source of pride on one’s credentials list.
Every voice is important.
