Psalm 23, 4

What do we least expect in hard times? A great feast prepared for us. Yet that’s what Psalm 23: 5 tells us. ‘You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
King David had been a shepherd. He’d led his sheep through rough valleys. He feasted on a flask of water and bread. As a king, he had enemies. He hid in caves. Yet, he says his God prepared a table before him. I doubt the table in the cave was like his table in his palace. Yet, God provided what he needed. Have the enemies vanished? No. But God’s provision is more sure than their threat.
His table for you today may be simply oatmeal, or your favorite delicacies. It will be what you need.
