Do riches reduce stress?

M Standing in the post office line chit chating with the young man behind me, the topic of winning the  lottery came up.  He told me he often fanticized of how he would spend millions.  He ask if I did as well.  I replied ‘No.’

V  It’s common to think of how much better your life would be with that windfall of money.  Let’s ask as Job did, “Will your riches keep you from distress, or all the forces of your strength?”  Job 36: 19.  Evidently not, as many lottery winners spend it all quickly and their lives are no better, or even in worse shape afterwards.

M  Proverbs 13:11 reminds us  Wealth hastily gotten will dwindle, but those who gather little by little will increase it.
