Philip. Jesus knows you
November 19, 2020
I’m attempting to fathom the depths of God’s knowledge of us, how He created us in our mother’s womb matching us for each day of our life.
Consider Philip, Jesus’ apostle. A great crowd followed Jesus and needed food. Jesus asked Philip “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” John 6:5. He knew Philip could calculate quickly the need. John 6:7 Philip answered him, “It would take more than half a year’s wages to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!” Quick math indeed.
A future assignment. To clearly explain the gospel to another numbers guy: The keeper of the Ethiopian treasures. Acts 8.
God is our God of efficiency. He knows our strengths and weaknesses, integrates them into each day of our lives. All we have to do is trust and obey. That’s what disciples do.
