Truths about the pandemic

M While the pandemic was initially dubbed a “great equalizer,” it’s clear that the fallout is hitting the working and middle classes much harder than other groups  Many low-income and middle class workers are in professions that can’t be easily performed remotely and may not be deemed “essential.” They are now facing furloughs and layoffs.

V  Large portions of this group were already in a financially vulnerable spot.  40% of Americans are not able to cover a $400 emergency expense.  One truth we know is that people learn from experience and are resilient.  Who has been hit hardest? Those in service industries, predominantly women, black and Latino workers.

M This is a good time for Christ followers to band together and help each other.
