Planned giving

I’m Miriam Neff-with STARTING OVER FINANCIALLY,-and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, and we’re here to talk about money
M Scripture instructs us to put aside money regularly for God’s purposes. I Corinthians 16: 2. What benefit is that? In New Testament times, Paul came to cities periodically, collected gifts for needy believers. Jerusalem’s persecuted residents needed gifts for survival.
V Designating funds avoids desperate last minute pleas. Consistent planning avoids the old term, borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. Organizations use funds needed for one task to cover an emergency. Chaos at best and inappropriate spending, what God has provided is not used in godly ways.
M The emphasis here is planning. Intentionally acting on the fact that God gives and Christ followers are generous. God is a God of order.
