Triggers for good

Our minds are full of triggers, like that small device that sets of a mechanism in a gun, triggers in our mind set off thoughts and emotional reactions.  Triggers can set off flash backs or a memory tape.  Our action to that trigger can be a relapse to destructive behavior or a new positive option.

We can’t control all triggers in our mind.  But we can control our response.  Our strongest tool to respond in positive ways is to pack our mind with Scripture. That simple phrase in Psalm 119: 105.  ‘Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my path,’  can be memorized, thought of every morning, many times during the day.

Trigger for negative response?  Defeated.  God will direct my step not the trigger.  God will show me the right way.
